Dara's Fine Art

“Running Free” is a composition of a single white/gray horse running forward. For the horse and background, I applied many layers of paint and textures using molding paste applied with palette knives. The final layers of paint are subtle tones of white and warm grays with turquoises and purple for contrast. Inspirational for this piece was the ethereal quality the horse seems to convey, and I love to paint motion. Also, I feel the direct gaze of this horse draws the viewer into the painting.
