Dara's Fine Art

For this Acrylic on canvas titled “Winter Warmth,” I used broad, playful brushstrokes to establish light and shadows and to imply foliage, earth, and atmosphere. I wanted the horse in this painting not to be visually separate from the surrounding colors and patches of paint. So, I integrated the colors and form of the horse to blend into the background. For my palette, I choose soft contrasting colors that I felt conveyed optimism and warmth and added lots of texture for interest and depth.
